It started in the humming energy of New York City, back in 2020. There was that first date- a single evening that felt like a glimpse into something much bigger- just as the world began to shift. The dates on the calendar were etched in stone: a few weeks of talking, one perfect meeting, and then, in March 2020, the world stood still.As the borders of cities closed and the reality of the pandemic set in, the physical distance between New York and Pittsburgh became a mountain to climb. Alec headed home, but the conversation never stopped.The following years were defined by green bubbles on a screen and the steady rhythm of text messages. While Alec was traveling the country for work, Chloe remained in the heart of NYC.Those texts became the bridge. They weren't just "check-ins"; they were the way a foundation was built despite Alec and Chloe being hundreds of miles apart from each other. Alec shared his travels while Chloe shared her life in the city and through that digital tether, the "talking stage" grew into something much deeper than just a spark.Eventually, the world opened back up and the short trips became the lifeblood of the relationship. There were stolen weekends where Alec would find his way back to the NYC streets, where it all began, and the long awaited Summer of 2023, when Chloe finally made the trip to Pittsburgh.That summer was the turning point- seeing Chloe in Alec's hometown, blending their two worlds together, and realizing that the distance had finally served its purpose. It had proven that no matter how many miles were between them, they were always moving towards the same destination.The long distance era officially ended in the Winter of 2023. When Chloe packed up her life and moved to Pittsburgh, it wasn't just a change of address; it was the start of the "inseparable" era.From a single date in a pre-pandemic city to a shared life in Pennsylvania, and now Texas, the story became one of persistence. The miles traveled and the years of waiting only made the reality of being together everyday that much sweeter. We couldn't be more excited to stop counting down the days until we see each other and start counting the years we get to spend together.
